Burn the Boats

When Greek warriors would land on the shores of countries they intended to conquer, their leaders would shout "Burn the boats!" The intent was to implore the troops to put all of their effort, energy, and focus into victory. There was no back-up plan. The vast majority of the time, the warriors were victorious, in large part because retreat was not an option. So often, we create for ourselves a back-up plan, an "out". We don't go into whatever we commit to with everything we've got. We want to make sure that we have a Plan B just in case things don't turn out as we expect. This is indication that we lack the faith and the belief. When you allow your fear to grow bigger than your faith, and you mentally prepare in advance for failure, quite often that's what you get. But if you believe you are capable, stay focused on your goal(and not your excuses), putting all of your effort and energy into making your dream a reality, you won't need a back-up plan. So don't give yourself an out. Don't establish a "what if" scenario. Don't create a Plan B. Don't let doubt find a home in your heart. Act as if failure really isn't an option! Once you commit, burn the boats, put everything you've got into the dream....and don't look back. Full steam ahead...BELIEVE! PHIL 4:13
