Connecting Faith, Belief, & Deeds

I have a favorite saying with which I like to close many of my motivational emails and cards to our Wellness Warriors....."Keep the Faith". Three simple words. Without Faith, belief is impossible. Many people have convinced themselves that their dreams, goals, visions, and pursuits are merely pipe dreams - something other people can accomplish, but for them, not so do-able. Having faith means believing something is possible even though you can't see it (yet). Those who are successful achieving goals and seeing dreams through to fruition have the ability to SEE the dream in technicolor reality - to smell it, feel it, taste it, live it, before it becomes a reality. And that's what drives them. So you go on faith....but faith requires DEEDS. I can have all the faith in the world, and believe something is possible, but as James 2:26 reminds us "Faith without deeds is dead". This is where others stumble. They profess faith, belief, and yet want the deed part to be pain-free & comfortable. Anything worth achieving in life is going to be difficult, often painful and uncomfortable. And most people absolutely hate being uncomfortable, even for a second. Want evidence? Sit in a mall parking lot and watch people in cars search for the closest parking spot to the entrance. Watch them fight over the spot if two come upon it at the same time. All in the name of desiring to minimize the discomfort level associated with walking an extra few yards. As Ralph Waldo Emerson implores us to do, "Go put your creed into your deed". Let's face the reality that we will have to work for what we want to achieve or become. Find someone who can help guide, support and hold you accountable connecting the dots of faith, belief and deeds......

Keep the Faith
